    A charming udon restaurant where history and atmosphere come alive.

    The interior, renovated from the reception area of a longestablished inn founded about 400 years ago, feels like stepping back in time.
    You can enjoy the beauty of traditional architecture, including tiger carvings and delicate craftsmanship throughout the space.
    The udon features a pleasantly firm texture that is easy for everyone to enjoy, along with a gentle, well-balanced broth that is not too strong.

    Kakusan recommend: Curry Udon

    When it comes to Musashi, curry udon is the must-try specialty.

    The rich, dark curry pairs beautifully with firm noodles.
    To enjoy it until the very end, ordering rice is highly recommended.

    While waiting for your udon, enjoy oden, the Kagawa way.
    Dip it in a mildly sweet white miso sauce mixed with mustard — the thick fried tofu is especially unforgettable.

    Kakusan recommend: Chicken Tempura Udon (Toriten Bukkake), Cold egg & Chili Udon

    A self-service udon shop beloved by locals.

    Beyond the atmospheric shopping street is Iwanoya, a udon shop popular with locals.
    It is lively with local students and office workers.
    My recommendation is the Toriten Bukkake. Freshly fried chicken tempura has a lightly sweet seasoned batter, making it very satisfying.
    It’s no exaggeration to say this is the udon shop I visit most often when coming to Kagawa.
